A former Renaissance palace left to ruin – a team of award-winning architects has expertly reimagined the building to create a portfolio of sleek city boltholes united by high-spec finishes, statement lighting, and one-off artwork. There's plenty of space to spill out and make yourself at home inside this apartment. Set out over three floors, each bedroom has a separate bathroom, and the two dining areas could easily double as a quiet desk space if you plan to work while in the city. When thoughts turn to food, get together in the sociable kitchen and dining area – with views of the oh-so-Italian terracotta facades outside, it's an atmospheric place to enjoy a lazy breakfast. Or head out instead – there are countless cafes to grab colazione (think buttery crostata tarts and proper cappuccinos) and, if it's later in the day, authentic trattorias for plates of the city's beloved ragù.
